Future Greenland will be the stage for an interesting process as the venue of the final for the entrepreneurship competition “Start Up Export 2015.
The competition is arranged jointly between Sermersooq Business Council and Greenland Business. During spring 2015 a number of companies participated in several workshops in order for them to become prepared to move from domestic marketplace to an international market.
The participant at Start Up Export 2015 includes both established companies and upcoming businesses with a product ready for export.
The following sessions are scheduled in the targeted process of Start Up Export 2015:
21-22 February Business Canvas Model
28 February Product management
10 March ‘Getting your house in order’
22 April Pricing, including various forms of sales agreements
22 April Preparation for pitching (film and presentation)
28 April Cultural differences in international trade and segmentation
4 May Pitching, preparation and general rehearsal with sponsors
On Thursday 7 May at Future Greenland the finalists will have 3 minutes to pitch their product in front of the conference delegates.
The winner will receive a prize of DKK 75,000, donated by Arctic Import A/S, Bank Nordik Grønland A/S and Polar Seafood A/S. All three companies will also make ten hours of mentor time available to the winner.
- A mentor from Polar Seafood with extensive export experience will ensure the winner gains an understanding of exports and their systematics
- A second mentor from Arctic Import will help to clarify distribution and logistics
- A third mentor from Bank Nordik will provide advice on economic matters, as well as on export setups in relation to finance.
The mentors will help to ensure that the concept is realistic, and that any potential barriers are investigated during the start-up phase.

The delegate votes represents 25% of the overall assessment.
